“The Bank of the Gospel"

Gospel Bankers Inc. is a non-denominational missions support ministry committed to advancing the Gospel of Christ among the remaining un-evangelized and unreached peoples of the world.

Founded in February 1974 in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, the ministry began when a few passionate believers decided to pool their resources to remove financial barriers hindering evangelism. What started as a small act of faith has grown into a powerful, decades-long movement mobilizing finances, prayers, human and material resources for global missions.

For over 50 years, Gospel Bankers has served as catalysts and senders — standing behind mission agencies, churches, and individuals who carry the light of Christ to difficult and unreached territories. Through strategic partnerships, we have helped train missionaries, fund projects, support displaced families, and sustain thousands of harvest laborers in Africa and beyond.

Our Origin – Born in Revival

The vision of Gospel Bankers was born during a season of spiritual awakening in post–civil war Nigeria. During an evangelistic crusade organized by the Youth Evangelical Movement (YEM) in February 1974, a sudden power outage halted the event. Moved by the setback, three brethren — Jolomi Frederick Toritsemotse, Charles Nwankwo Ogbonna, and Aghama Imade — resolved to take action.

They decided to contribute funds to purchase a power generator so that the Gospel would never again be hindered by lack of resources. That act of faith marked the birth of “a bank for the Gospel.” A bank account was opened on February 19, 1974, and in March 1986, the ministry was officially incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as Gospel Bankers Inc.

Since then, the movement has grown steadily, building partnerships with over 80 mission-sending agencies across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond
